No salesperson layer

In a lot of roofing companies the person who inspects your roof is paid on what they close, and the people who build it never met them. That arrangement produces exactly the behaviours this trade is known for: replacements recommended where repairs would do, numbers quoted before anything has been diagnosed, and a gap between what was promised at the kitchen table and what happens on the roof. We are organised the other way around. The person who climbs up is the person who writes the estimate and the person who does the work.

The practices that follow from it

Diagnosis before any number

Somebody is on the roof, and in the attic where there is a hatch, before an estimate exists. Numbers produced without that are predictions dressed as quotes.

We quote the smaller job when it is right

If a repair buys five more years it gets priced alongside the replacement, with the reasoning for each. We are content to take the smaller invoice.

No large deposit

Nothing before materials are ordered. A big up-front payment is the clearest warning sign in this industry and we would rather not resemble it.

Photographs as standard
